This piece was made for that person.
Hundreds of golf tees — the same ones pulled from bags, tucked into pockets, handed off on the first tee — were packed into a mold and sealed in epoxy, then turned on the lathe until they became something worth keeping long after the clubs are put away. The result is a vessel that holds a candle, a few pens, a small bouquet — whatever you like — and quietly tells everyone in the room exactly who you are.
